Sven Gauggel — Morgan Stanley

Sven joined Morgan Stanley in 2007 in London as an application developer working in the Private Wealth Management department’s portfolio accounting and performance space.

In 2012 he moved into Morgan Stanley Wealth Mgmt’s Global Banking Technology team and worked on the Bank Deposit Program’s (BDP) subledger platform initially. In 2015 he moved from London to NY and has since been responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a new MMKT sweep platform as well as provide input to the evolution of the BPD subledger platform.

Prior to Morgan Stanley, he worked for Rohde & Schwarz between 2002 and 2007 as a freelance application and systems developer in Munich, Germany.

As part of his current role, he partly focuses on bringing new technologies to the team where appropriate (e.g. Kafka) but also introduces “new” processes and methodologies that require a culture change (e.g. DevOps, Agile, TDD/BDD).
